Friday night Tom and I went to a kick-off party for the East Lansing Art Festival (an awesome perk we get for Tom helping them set up their computer voting system!). It was a pregnant woman's dream! Well, except for the free booze I couldn't enjoy. But the food was incredible - artfully displayed, delicious, and there was just so much of it!
Saturday we got up early and checked out our neighbor's garage sale before my hair appointment - she had so many baby clothes! We got a big garbage bag full of clothes in all different sizes for $30. Between those and the baby clothes my mom got at a garage sale in Chicago, Twinkie's closet is already full! Saturday afternoon, we went to the Art Festival to check it out and I made the terrible mistake of wearing long pants - but I swear, it wasn't that hot or sunny when we left the house! After the sun came out and it heated up outside, I was not a happy camper. I am ashamed to say I was getting more than a little snippy with Tom because I was so uncomfortable. It's going to be a really long summer.
Sunday my mom came to town and we had a nice lunch (I can't get enough of Max and Erma's tortilla soup! :) and did some shopping at Babies R Us. We also got to show her the baby's room and some of the things we (read: Tom) have been doing around the house. Tom and I ended the day by giving our cars much-needed baths and then in the evening we had a little mini-bonfire and made some s'mores - yum!
